The use of explosives on your jobsite- whether for rock blasting or demolition- is a specialized operation, and many construction safety and management staff have a limited understanding of the products, terms, and practices associated with this work.
This program is a brief history of blasting, and reviews the products, practices, and control measures used to successfully manage this ultra-hazard activity. The discussion includes explosive products, detonating systems, Federal law, and control of damage from the three most common causes.
