Taking a Proactive Approach to Preventing Recordable Injuries
Date: Wednesday, February 17, 2010
Time: 10:15am - 11:30am
Code: 4F
This Workshop will help you develop an anatomical understanding about how the human body works & breaks down including how spinal disc herniations and nerve entrapments develop with special emphasis on injury prevention through proper lifting methods and learning self-help techniques including stretches, balance training, nerve flossing and core strengthening.
Dr. Coffey will demonstrate a few simple functional assessment tests to identify common imbalances such as nerve entrapments, degenerative disc and joint conditions, tight and weakened musculature that has been shown to increase the likelihood of developing injury. The goal is to identify and correct minor imbalances to prevent them from becoming major recordable claims. You will find this program to be extremely practical and cutting edge by implementing professional risk assessments and standards for workstation design & lifting methods while improving the anatomical functioning of the employees.
