Immediate opening for a Full-Time Health and Safety (HSE) Professional to provide on-site field inspection and documentation related to infrastructure improvements at Chicago’s Union Station. The project has recently started and is currently expected to continue until at least February 2011. This is a for a temporary full-time position with the potential to continue beyond this initial assignment based on company backlog and employee performance.
The HSE professional must meet the minimum training and experience comprised of two or more of the following:
- Degree in health, safety & Environmental management or equivalent with 3 or more years of field experience in the safety profession.
- Seven (7) or more years as a safety professional of which four (4) or more must be in industrial and/or construction safety
- Two (2) years or more rail safety experience
- Advanced technical training or HSE certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, etc.
Certifications must include current CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA Construction Outreach Instruction is desired.
Proficiencies must include:
- OSHA and FRA regulations
- Safety planning
- Hazard communications
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Computer skills
- Hazard recognition, evaluation and control
- Incident Prevention
- Behavior Based Safety Observation Programs
