The  Application of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace is designed to educate workers to recognize the hazards of working with and around electricity and how to protect yourself from those hazards. OSHA requires any employee who works in an area where potential electrical hazards exist, be provided with, and use, appropriate electrical protective equipment for specific body parts and the work to be performed. 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • List decision making process to comply with OSHA rules
  • Complete an energized electrical work permit as part of the job safety plan
  • Select appropriate risk control methods from the hierarchy of controls
  • Select proper personal protective equipment

Other topics include arc flash hazards analysis, limited and restricted approach boundaries and lock out/tag out.

Target Audience:  Any individual who designs, estimates, sells, installs, or inspects electrical installations, as well as those who manage projects or whose work requires them to be on a construction worksite.

Language:   This course is taught in English.
